「鴨川ホルモー」の続編・・・というか、外伝。スピンオフってやつですか。
「鴨川～」のストーリーと同時期に、またその後起こった出来事を
短編風にまとめた小説です。
前作との絡みの妙がかなり面白かったです。
もちろん「鴨川～」を読んでから、これを読んだほうがいいですが、
できれば映画を観たほうが更に楽しめるかも。
※まぁ映画自体はさほどの出来でもなかった気がしますが。
映像化された「オニ」を思い浮かべながら、また新しい話を読めるので
もう面白くって面白くって。
舞台が京都ということもあり、うまく歴史ネタを絡ませてるのがまた面白いですね。
最終章の「本能寺の変」のくだりはなんだかちょっと泣けてきたなぁ。
そして一編だけ東京に舞台を移した「丸の内サミット（＝合コン）」、
これまた良い。なんと東京でも・・・。
まぁこの本の面白さは前作を読んでこそ。当たり前ですけど。
僕が更に楽しめたのは、前作→前作原作の映画→本作という順番だったからかな。
そういえば、「下妻物語」もこのパターンですが、
「ホルモー」が特徴的なのは映像化しないと全く想像できない「オニ」の存在でしょう。
凄いなぁ。

読んだ～
私は予備知識無く映画→鴨川六景（これまた予備知識無く図書館で偶然手にして）だったけど、最初設定に戸惑ったよ。
確かに映像の方が頭に入りやすいね。「オニ」が特殊すぎて、、、
ちょっと関係無いけど、映画の中の「レナウン娘～」が大好き（笑）

ふぅむ、いきなり映画は難しいかもね。
小説だと、最初は主人公同様「なんだ？？？」だけど文章できちんと表現されるけど
映画は時間の都合上、細かい説明端折っちゃうからねぇ。
一作目読んでから、「六景」読むとなかなか味わい深い。
「レナウン娘～」ね！あれは小説でもでてきます。イエイイエイイエイ♪
